Formwork beams
Formwork beams generally use metal panels or timber. It’s a 3-sided propped box supported according to the desired level.
The entire process is to construct a box that is surrounded by different frames as the size of the beam to fasten it firmly. The fastening process is done at the last stage of beam concreting, and the final product is brought to the construction site.
These timber formwork beams support correctly and at the appropriate level. While the removal time of the formwork will depend upon the curing rate, humidity, and air temperature.
These beams are for the construction of the concrete formwork columns, foundations, walls, slabs, etc. they have different names for these frameworks, such as footing forms are formwork for foundation, columns forms are formwork for column construction, etc.
Formwork Beam Production Process
The construction of the formwork for the beam is the process of building a mold in which fresh concrete is poured. This concrete is left for solidifying and the beam work is removed. As it is a temporary structure, it is not there in the drawing and design plans.
There are different types of formwork, and they depend on materials along with the type of structural element. These formworks categorize in terms of structural member construction.
For example, construction slabs, column formwork, beam formwork are great for constructing columns and beams, etc.
Formwork is for making a temporary mold within which concrete is poured and forms structures. Conventional formwork is created with the help of timber, but glass fiber, steel, and reinforced plastics with other materials. Formwork beams are used as molds in which fresh concrete is poured and then left of solidification. These beams are then removed and the structure is formed.
- Raw materials
Whether steel, plastic, or wood, raw materials are chosen for the formwork. Rezult deals in wood formwork beams. These raw materials are cut at the required size and thickness. After that, any impurities are clean to prevent any bonding effects. The raw materials may include wood, boards, plywood, plastic, steel, aluminum, etc based on the vendor requirements.
- Drying treatment
The next step is the drying treatment, especially for the wood used to get rid of any excess moisture content done in the drying chambers. The wood material becomes stiffer and more stable.
- Gluing
The formwork has several layers that glue together. Rezult uses 3 layers of wood for formwork and glues them together according to customers’ specific requirements, and it all depends upon what you will be using these beams for.
- Molding treatment
Next is the molding treatment using a pressing technology, which ensures that the formwork products have excellent bonding viscosity and strength and are relatively flat.
- Trimming and removal of impurities
In the final step, any excess plates are cut off with anti-corrosion paint to guarantee longer service life. This spraying helps remove any impurities in the end.
Formwork Beam Specifications
Rezult constructs formwork beams with flange and connecting bars made of fir or pine trees, both solid wood. And theory, finger jointing lengthways and ring width are according to the DIN 68140-1 standard.
The gluing of the upper flange is with the two connecting bar surfaces, while the lower flange is parallel to the butt-jointing and grain using official gluing or adhesion need and requirement. While to ensure fixing, use aluminum nails.
- Wood type = Pine
- Length = from 1.8 to 2.65 m
- Thickness = 200 mm
Applications for Formwork Beam
Formwork beams are highly versatile for a variety of purposes. These beams are for solid structures like columns and foundations. Moreover, they can serve as special structures for specific functions like chimneys, containers, or other hydraulic systems.
Furthermore, these beams can work as structures that meet essential satirical requirements like towers and bridges. Formworks beams are great for the reconstruction of structures and can work for irregular arrangements
Available Formwork Beam Sizes
Rezult has a wide variety of formwork beam sizes available. The length of the formwork beam varies from 1.8 to 2.65 based on the vendor requirements. And its thickness is 200 mm.
